These past few weeks we have been delving deeper into Macbeth, focusing more on the psychology of it all and why people react the way they do. It's been interesting studying Macbeth's actions and what he goes through. It gives the appearance that Macbeth has paranoid schizophrenia which worsens as time goes on and is triggered a lot of the time by being scared.
Me and my group have been busy making a presentation on this, telling about Freud and Maslow's theories and researching lots of things involving psychology and madness. I'm glad I took a class involving this last year, it's really helped now and I have a better understand of it all than what I would have had. While preparing this presentation we are also preparing our paper, which will consist of a lot of the same information.
This week we also had a speaker come in to discuss with us about Shakespeare and how entwined he is in modern society and language. It was really interesting hearing all the things he's had influenced on and what wouldn't be here today if he hadn't written what he did.
